Goddess of the Month
Goddess -Oya one of the Orisha Dieties of the Yoruba people. Oya is a powerful goddess of the Orisha's. Her power stems from her connection with the elements of air, wind, storms, lightining, tornadoes and hurricanes. She is also the goddess of business, flea markets, marketplaces and enterprise. The number 9 is associated with this diety. Offerings to this goddess includes eggplants, red wine, purple grapes, plums and tobacco. She is also associated with the Third Eye Chakra which is known as the gateway to higher consciousness and the inner spiritual realm. Individuals with a high capacity of the third eye chakra are known as seers. Oya's weakness is men. However, as fierce a warrior woman as she is compassionate. Her heart is large. She connects and anchors one to the ancestors. She is also the guardian of the cemetery. One of the strongest animals aligned with Oya is the dragonfly. February 2nd is the Feast of Oya.
